Jacobs holds Associate Certified Coach credentials from the International Coach Federation (ICF), and is accredited as a Certified Professional Coach and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.

He has led training workshops for and/or provided executive coaching services to such respected firms as Cooney Waters Group, Coyne PR, CRT/tanaka (Now Padilla/CRT), Idea Grove, Ink & Roses, Jones PR, M Booth, MSLGroup, Peppercomm, R&J Strategic Communications, Portavocce PR, Reputation Partners, Ruder Finn, Saxum, SPI Group, Stern Strategy Group, Taylor, and Xenophon Strategies, among others.

Prior to launching his companies, Jacobs spent 25 years in management and leadership positions with a number of public relations agencies. At each of these firms Jacobs served on senior management committees responsible for staff development, training, morale, recruitment, and retention.

He writes “Taking The Lead,” the monthly leadership column for the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Public Relations Tactics, and has written on professional development for PR News. Jacobs’ articles on leadership have appeared in PRSA’s The Public Relations Strategist.

Jacobs serves on the Mentoring Committee of PRSA’s New York chapter, is an active member of its Counselors Academy, and is on the board of PRSA’s New Jersey chapter. He is the recipient of that chapter’s 2014 Pyramid Award for Chapter Service.

Jacobs graduated with honors from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, with a dual B.S. in public relations and speech communications.
